Book Tour

By Appointment Only

For more than 100 years, guests from every inhabited continent have traveled to tour the art environment of Laura Pope Forester. Since its reopening in 2019, Pope’s Museum has been inducted into the National Registry of Historic Places for Art and Women’s History, and while much of the original works have been destroyed or taken off site, a visit to Pope’s Museum still leaves guests inspired in the power of demonstrating solidarity and gratitude. You will be encouraged by both the artistic beauty and genius of Laura Pope Forester, as well as appreciate the inspiration that she demonstrated in breaking the gender barriers of the 19th and 20th century and the sacrifices endured by our military families. All groups and ages are welcome.

What Our Patrons Think

Stephani Roohani

What a fabulous gem tucked away in southwest Georgia! This is a unique property that is carefully being restored and preserved. Take a tour and learn about the history of the home, Laura Pope Forester, and her artwork! Highly recommend!

Tammy Brookins

We went on a tour today. Even though the weather was bad, the tour was magnificent. We learned about Laura Pope, the original owner of the property. She was an artist and a mother and a patriot. This is a must-not-miss stop for anyone

Delani DeGrosky

This place is AWESOME! Michelle is so kind. She is so knowledgeable and sweet. It feels like hearing stories from an old friend. The art and the story behind it is fascinating and empowering. Check this place out! Especially if you are interested in history, art, or architecture.

We visited Popes Museum for a homeschool field trip. It was a great tour and everyone enjoyed the visit! We all learned something new and would visit again.

The owners have done an amazing job of restoration in a very short period of time. The tour given by the family was outstanding. Worth a return visit.
